Downloading the MOTT Cigar Ratings Sample File

Once inside the Memento Database app, slide left to right to display the menu.
Select the "Community Templates". Click the Search option from the upper right side of the screen, and simply type in "mott". This should display the "MOTT Cigar Ratings" download option.

Renaming the MOTT Cigar Ratings Sample File

Next, change the name of your downloaded MOTT Cigar Ratings to something of your own personal liking. This is YOUR journal, so name it what you like. There is one sample cigar for you to see how the information on a cigar can be recorded. Delete this Arturo Fuente sample cigar rating when desired.

Creating the Icon for Your New Journal

The next step is to simply make your new database clickable on your phone without having to open the Memento Database itself. Memento will allow you to create an icon for your renamed database. This will make it run just like an app whenever you tap the Icon.

Tips for Using the Database

1. Click on the Icon to open your database. Click the "+" in the lower right corner to start the timer and open the cigar entry.

2. Enter the "Brand", "Cigar Name", and maybe the "Shape" or "Wrapper Type", and then click the check mark in the upper left corner to save the entry.

3. Click on the cigar again to go back to the entry. You can now just sit back and enjoy the cigar! Enter data in little bits by simply tapping the edit button in the upper right, entering a little data, and then tapping the checkmark in the upper left. You will do this many times while smoking to make the data entry very non-intrusive to the smoking enjoyment!

5. When your cigar is done, tap on the "Finish Time" option at the bottom of the screen. This will automatically display the smoking duration for you to have as a fairly valuable reference.

Other Points to Know Later

~ You can insert an image of your own into your created Icon. This is available on the menu swiping left to right.

~ You can send anj individual cigar rating to someone as a text or email if desired with the "three-dot" menu on the top right. The "Save as PDF" option creates a nice 1-page document!

~ You can set up automatic sync with the cloud. Select the "three-dot" menu on the top right and it is the second item on the menu.

~ You can quickly sort your cigars by any rating you desire like cost, Personal Rating, Happiness Quotient, etc. Select the "three-dot" menu in the upper right to display the "Sort" options for your cigar database.

~ Think of "Happiness Quotient" as what you would smoke based upon enjoyment alone, and think of Personal Rating as what feels best for your normal smoking budget, happiness, and tastes all combined. This is the only scale from 1 to 10. All other scales are 1 to 5.

~ Verbose comments at the end are really the best part of the rating. However, going in and out of the database while smoking you will notice that these 2 areas FULLY HIGHLIGHT when touched. This can make them completely disappear if you are not careful! Tapping anywhere inside the highlighted text area will remove the dangerous highlighting, and then you can tap to place the cursor wherever desired.
